A number of cable-cars and chair-lifts in the surrounding area take you safely and quickly up to the starting point for a choice of great mountain excursions and easy walks.
Cable-car MERAN 2000
Meran2000 is the year-round mountain sport resort which offers a fantastic views of the of the Ortler and Dolomite mountains. In the summer it is a favourite spot for hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking and just plain enjoying the fresh air and views in the Italian Alps. In both winter and summer enjoy the famous Meran 2000 Alpine Bob Sled.
Cable-car VIGILJOCH
One of the oldest cable cars in Tyrol takes you up to the traffic-free hiking area around the Vigiljoch. From the upper station you can take a chair lift further, to an altitude of 1,814 m. The nearby mountain peaks are ideal for all mountain climbers.
A point of interest, from which many legends date, is the small Vigiljoch Church, which is said to have been built by gentle giants. Here, at the highest point, you have a fantastic view of the countryside.
Cable-car HIRZER
Cable car taking you 1,500m from the lower station to the upper station, Hirzer (Klammeben). You can also get off at the middle station, Prenn. Starting point for lovely high alpine walks (also the E5 European hiking route).
Cable-car DORF TIROL- HOCHMUTH
This cable-car takes you from Tirolo to Hochmuth within 5 min. You'll reach a wonderful mountain-scenery with a unique view above Merano and the "Etsch-Valley." There are various trekking possibilities: from an easy and delightful declimb to the cable-car base station to the wonderful round walk along the lakes of "Sprons" and to the peaks of the "Texel-Group"Mountains.
