Our hotel in the heart of the city of Merano, in the idyllic residential quarters of Maia Alta / Obermais is surrounded by a very well-tended, large Mediterranean park, where you can relax in the shadow of the palms amongst fragrant flowers. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the garden and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while watching the clouds in the sky. Let your eyes wander over the impressive 3,000-metre-high mountain range above Merano. Despite the relaxed atmosphere of our hotel, the Old Town of Merano is just a few minutes’ walk away. Start at the promenade at the Passer, passing the Art Noveau arcade, the Wandelhalle, before your reach the popular centre of Merano. The Old Town with its picturesque cafés, little shops and boutiques is perfect for strolling and shopping. Furthermore, the bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. In just a few minutes the bus takes you comfortably to the city centre or the gondola of Meran 2000, from where you can start a number of hiking tours. Coming from the North or South, you take the Brennero/Brenner highway A22, take the exit Bolzano/Bozen Sud and then continue on the MeBo expressway towards Merano / Meran. Take the exit Merano / Meran Sud until you reach the roundabout, then follow the signs towards Scena/Schenna-Val Passiria/Passeiertal (1st exit). At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit towards Maia Alta / Obermais. Reach the Brunnenplatz and keep right. After ca. 350 m, turn right into Kirchsteig and then immediately right and you have arrived at Villa Bavaria in Merano / Meran.

The "Meraner Land Express" takes you from Munich central station to Merano / Meran, on Wednesday and Saturday. Südtirol Tours take you from Stuttgart to Merano every Saturday. Six times a day you can take Südtirol Bus from/to Merano to/from Munich airport. If you are coming from Switzerland, you reach Merano by Südtirol Express.
